Founded by Ms.Pearl, Street Performer, writer and filmmaker; in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Initially created to accommodate people who lost their homes or were involved in the rebuilding; as featured in the PBS documentary "Kamp Katrina". (link)
Since the city's return to semi function, the Bunkhouse has shifted its focus, working to reinvigorate the New Orleans streets with performance, art and music. We have participated in many community events, and are creating opportunities for other buskers to do the same.
